Wood Design & Carpentry works across Cornwall from a yard in Gothers. The same team will take a house from the groundworks to the kitchen, or open up a cottage that has been there for two hundred years.

The team

Five builders, still doing the work

The company is five people. Between them the tickets cover SMSTS site management, Level 3 carpentry, craft masonry, kitchen fitting, plant, first aid and CSCS. Electrical and plumbing work is carried by subcontractors we have used for years, so a project stays under one roof.

The last few years have been mostly new homes. Before that the work was period buildings: Grade I, Grade II*, and houses in conservation areas. A hotel renovated by the team was later upgraded to Grade II* for the period detail restored on that job.

Where in Cornwall do you work?

We are based at Gothers, near St Austell, and take on building work across Cornwall. Recent projects include Tywardreath, Truro, St Merryn, Constantine Bay, Trevone and Pendoggett near Port Isaac.
